Where every Mission we accept is Possible

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) is a regulation by which the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission intend to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the European Union (EU).

Compliance with GDPR imposes significant obligations on Data Controllers and Processors to add and implement a whole new basket of measures designed to ensure the rights of Data Subjects

This new regulation is particularly relevant to Private Investigators and over 120 delegates attended a unique seminar presented by the Association of British Investigators (ABI) in London on Friday 9th February 2018 explaining the detail of the new procedures that are due to be introduced on the 25th May.

With its strict membership accreditation process, endorsements by the Law Society of England & Wales and included in the Law Society of Scotland’s Approved Supplier Scheme and with its Code of Ethics and professional standards recognised and adopted by the British Standards Association in its Code of Practice for Investigative Services (BS10200/2013), the ABI is the benchmark for professionalism in the private investigation field.

The choice for client Data Controllers sourcing private investigative services to ensure compliance with GDPR and peace of mind combined with professionalism is to seek such services from within the membership of the ABI.
